Created in 1999 and modelled on the famous Edinburgh Tattoo, this international music festival is unique in French-speaking Switzerland. It takes place in the majestic courtyard of the Swiss National Stud Farm, located on the outskirts of Avenches and Lake Morat.
Avenches Tattoo has been held since 2023 in the sumptuous setting of the Swiss National Stud Farm, a major Swiss heritage site that hosts the festival throughout the renovation period of the Roman arenas.
The only event of its kind in French-speaking Switzerland, it brings together nearly 500 musicians for four performances of a unique show. It is one of the most renowned tattoos and each year brings together the world's best performance orchestras in a unique musical and visual show.
The guest ensembles, all of the highest musical and choreographic calibre, give spectacular performances that thrill the audience. Whether playing popular or modern melodies, the musicians, true virtuosos of their art, produce a colourful show with phenomenal precision.
